One the absolute best ways to get your fill of aviation is to attend an airshow.  The sights and sounds cannot be described by words or even seen on video, they must be experienced in person.  The rumble in your chest as 6 F-18 fighters going full after burner to take flight is intense.  The precision is immaculate, going wing tip to wing tip, mere inches apart.  Tumbling over and over, acrobatic aircraft seem to be completely out of control only feet from the ground.  Each nose dive giving you a pit in your stomach that they are  seconds away from catastrophe only to pull up at the very last instant.  You feel relief for that moment, only for the performer to roll into a loop and do it all over again.  The deep growl of a giant radial engine pulling a 60  years of history through the sky is loved by all history buffs. The finesse of a glider pilot slowly circling down to a perfect landing for all to enjoy.   A passionate aviation lover, curious as to how aircraft work or just looking for some weekend entertainment are all great reasons to attend an airshow.

Air Show Season is right around the corner.  We can’t wait either! The sites and sounds of aircraft buzzing the sky is an incredible site to see.

Planes of Fame Air Show 2014, May 3 & 4: “A Salute to the Mighty Eighth“.  This year’s airshow will feature over 40 historic aircraft, performing for your enjoyment as well as a salute to the 8th Air Force in WWII. We invite you to Airshow 2014 to celebrate the history and contributions of the men, women, and aircraft of the 8th Air Force. Performers include U.S.A.F. F-22 Raptor Demo Team and Heritage Flight, Sean D. Tucker-Team Oracle Aerobatics, The Bremont Horsemen, Sea Fury Aerobatics by Sanders Aeronautics, Rob Harrison and the Tumbling Bear, and over 40 WWII aircraft including B-17, P-47, and P-51s. In addition to many other fantastic airplanes performing, there will be a panel discussion with our honored veterans. Check back often for updates on the veterans who will participate.
